This year's annual meeting of the AAOS American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons was held in San Francisco from February 8th - 10th, 2012.
San Francisco welcomed the domestic and international attendees in the centrally located Moscone Center with springlike weather.  Merete USA presented itself with a newly designed booth and new products at the conference.  In a relaxed atmosphere the Merete representatives informed the visitors who were particularly interested in Merete´s new innovative Foot reconstructive Implants. Among others, OsteoBridge® System with its recently FDA cleared Spacer Connectors for the management of Bone Defects and Resections in oncology patients as well as the OsteoBridge® IKA Knee Arthrodesis System were subject of major interest. 
On the "Specialty-Day", a day set aside for scientific programs presented by organizations that are members of the Board of Specialty Societies (BOS), Merete USA sponsored the contribution of the "Musculoskeletal Tumor Society" (www.msts.org). 

All in all - it was a success for Merete.  See you in March 2013 in Chicago!

On this year’s German Congress of Orhtopedics and Traumatology (DKOU) in Berlin, Merete displayed itself with new products and a newly designed exhibit. For the first time, Merete presented EPICAL®, its shortly approved new method of treating titanium implants for the positive stimulation of bone growth and for December 2011 announced MetaFix^® Plantar BG10, a new plantar locking plate for treating Hallux Valgus with the arthrodesis of the TMT I joint according to Lapidus.

Along with a well-frequented booth in hall 15.1, Merete hosted two lunch workshops covering the topics „Great Toe Joint Prosthesis: experience and techniques with Merete ToeMobile®" and "Septic Prosthesis - what now?" Both workshops were well attended and after interesting presentations and the ensuing discussions, a consistently positive conclusion could be drawn.

Merete Medical GmbH introduces its latest MetaFix^® Forefoot Reconstruction Plate at the 19^th International Symposium of the Association for Foot Surgery (GffC) in December in Munich.

The new MetaFix^® Plantar BG10 is a plantar, low-profile angle-stable plate for the treatment of Lapidus Arthrodesis. The plate system permits a perfect surgical correction of moderate and severe deformities even revisions of failed osteotomies.  The proximal medial arm simplifies an optimal and neat initial fixation by using locking srews. The approved Merete MetaFix^® instrumentarium can be used.
