MEROTAN™ EPICAL® Cementless:
The newly developed Merete® Merotan™ anatomically adapted cementless hip prosthesis favors:
- A good congruence in the bone
- The preservation of the bone due to minimal opening in the lateral proximal femur
- Optimal proximal load transfer to facilitate the long-term preservation and the cultivation of the proximal bone
- Minimization of stress shielding
- Higher rotation stability
- A better osseointegration and the higher stability of the implant in the bone due to the new EPICAL® Titanium Treatment
MEROTAN™ Cemented:
The MEROTAN™ cemented twin stem simplifies the often necessary intraoperative change of procedure from cementless to cemented (or vice versa) because the same set of rasps is used.
Additional advantages of the MEROTAN™ cemented stem design:
- The principle of a consistent cement mantle applies, which can only be realized due to the anatomically adapted shape of the prosthesis
- Therefore the long-term durability of the prosthesis in the femur is increased
- The principle of proximal load transfer applies here also
Indications:
- Primary total hip replacement and hemiarthroplasty
- Hip-revision in case of a well-preserved proximal femur
- Advanced joint abrasion due to degenerative, posttraumatic or rheumatic arthritis
- Fracture or avascular necrosis
- Osteotomy or arthrodesis
